Mom's 60 Birthday

One of my favorite moment was on my mother’s 60th birthday. This summer the family flew out to Chicago to throw a huge birthday bash for my mother. It was a big hoopla. We ordered the cake-raspberry lemon curd cake, one of the very things that my mom loves, but my son hates. He hates raspberries, for that matter, any type of berries. We had the party at a nice Japanese restaurant in Chicago, and all night long the children have been anticipating the yummy cake. Well, when it came out, my son went up to my mom so he can have the first bite, only to find out there were raspberries on top of the cake. If you see the second picture you will see how disappointed he was, and he cried, “Why did you get this cake, grandma! I hate this cake, you know I don’t like raspberries?!?!” As if the whole party was for him, and everything centered around him. My mother and everyone around her cracked up. IT was such a great moment.
