What's Hot for Spring Break Travel with Kids

We were featured in Northern Virginia Magazine, an interview with Clarendon Moms Blogger, Angelica Talam! Her favorite spring break travel gears for kids is our Chalk A Doodle Book by Jaq Jaq Bird! Dawn Price Baby, our first store we signed with 10 years ago is still carrying our products.
It is truly an amazing story between Dawn and I when we first met up in Reston, Va 10 years ago at Starbucks dreaming together about our businesses, and forward 10 years later, Dawn Price Baby is the destination shop for DC Metro. Currently she has 4 stores in surrounding DC area.

It's Lunch Time at School!

I admit, I am a lazy mom at times and my kids are asking me to write a note on their napkins during lunch and I hate writing on napkins.. but our ButterStix has been perfect for your hard lunch box tops. (or even a fabric lunchbox that has a coating on it and can wipe easily like on the inside of the insulated lining of the box) Here are some features about the ButterStix:1. It won't smear easily, 2. Comes off with a damp cloth, 3. It's food safe. Here we partnered with Yumbox Lunch Box (btw, my favorite bento box, considering I lived in Japan and couldn't find as easily portable, and clean-able (is that a word? it should be) as nice as Yumbox Lunch . I LOVE their bento boxes.  Best of all, it fits with our Backpack/Lunchbox set! Warning: For allergy/asthma sufferers: please make sure you check with your doctor before using our ButterStix on your kid's lunchbox.

Used white, blue, pink, yellow ButterStix on the outside and inside of the Yumbox.
For allergy sufferers, please check with your doctor before using it
on your child's lunchbox.

Yumbox Lunch fits our insulated lunchbox!

Difference between ButterStix and Dustless Chalks?

Have you gone to a store and picked up a package of chalk, and it reads, "dustless chalks" but when you buy one and open it, you come to realize it's not dustless afterall? In fact 99% of all dustless chalks are not dustless, and when you touch them, it feels so dry, grainy and chalky.. In an age where parents and teachers are dealing with increasing cases of allergies and asthma in children, and dry erase boards have replaced the traditional chalk boards in classrooms, we have longed for nostalgic chalk boards, and chalks as how adults remembered them when we were students. Only we forgot about all the dust that comes with chalks! Well, Jaq Jaq Bird's ButterStix would be called "dustless' but because "dustless" doesn't mean without dust, we coined the term"zero dust" because there is no dust in our chalks. And YES it is chalk, only it can be used in other surfaces too other than your chalkboards: walls, containers, plastic cups, wine glasses, glass, plates, counter tops, any non-porous surface! It is also patented, and exclusively formulated to make sure it's safe, non-toxic, that it erases! Not an easy task to accomplish!

ButterStix for Serious Artists

I hired a crafter/artist to draw on this beautiful banner from  Jaq Jaq Bird with our ButterStix.

She fell in love with the Stix (of course). She told me what would take about 30 boxes of white chalks to draw this, it took her 12 boxes of ButterStix (12 in a box) and less dust of course!

This is a great store idea for retail space. You can cut it, frame it, and doodle away.. The only thing that might limit you is your artistic talent (which obviously I have none since I had to hire her! )
