I know, I'm guilty of sometimes surrendering my kids to the iPhone®, iPad® etc. so they stay busy while I'm occupied. But seriously, I try my best to limit e-devices unless absolutely necessary for school. I've even put away the Wii® now for 5 months and counting. And they're surviving! How? A daily cultivation of books and arts. They love to read, they love to draw, and they still love to talk to mom and dad during dinner. Old fashioned fun? Perhaps. But sometimes the simple pleasures in life provide the greatest satisfaction. And electronics? They just get in the way. Chalks on a blank canvas may be messier than an iPad®, but it's worth the creativity that you're nurturing as a parent. It's worth every penny!
